The summer’s first volunteer group out this day. Handled the nearly hot temperatures to address the weeds in the herb gardens. Volunteers from Cypress weeded and feed the horses. Worked on several projects to provide the needed help to push the summer growing effort forward. Christ Cathedral church downtown provided the student volunteers and pledged further support in coming weeks. The experience started with a tour of the wheel of Sustainability. Viewing the aquaponics. Vermaculture. Beekeeping from a distant. Mother’s from the neighborhood who are from Tanzania joined in a photo shoot to capture the moment. The experience was short lived but very productive. Hope to see everyone again soon.
Groups from all over will be participating in the inner city farm experience all summer. Special thanks to Christ Cathedral for their valuable support in working a local food resource in FifthWard. The work is never done. Seed holds the future of things to come. Let’s farm a nation to plenty.
